I AM NOT Tamyra Grey

Do a Yahoo search for "Tamyra Grey", and my blog is #2 & #7 on the list...

Do a Google search for the same, and old entries come us as #2 & #3...

One problem...

I AM NOT Tamyra Grey

Normally, I would be thankful that the search brought an extra soul to town. Maybe that soul searching for Ms. Grey is smart enough to realize that this site has absolutely nothing to do with the woman. Maybe even that soul was touched by something I had to say.

I wouldn't think that you could confuse me or anything on this blog with Tamyra. I'm not black. I'm not a woman. I CAN sing, but even my ego doesn't think I'm as good as her.

The following is an email I received today at my email address: everythinggrey-at-yahoo-dot-com:

Hello, just wanted to say that I love your version of dance with my father better than mr vandross. Been listening to it over and over again and it's great.

Doesn't that just crack you up?

Part of me wants to tell this sad soul that he's got the wrong person. But, an evil part of me wants to reply as if I were indeed Tamyra. Part of me wants to really fuck with his person. Part of me wants to send him this reply:

Dear John, thank you for the lovely compliment. Actually, I really hate that song. I don't know why I'm telling you this, but I feel I can trust you for some reason. I'm not ashamed to say that when ever I sing that song, in my head I'm replacing "father," with your name. Yes, this really is Tamyra. Why would I lie? Make sure you tell all of your buddies that we are in love. They will believe you, after all, they are your friends. Love, Tamyra

But, evil doesn't look good on me. I'm more of a winter...

In unrelated news, I haven't had a headache at work since I gave notice... Makes you wonder...

The Big, Big, Really Big Big News

I'm moving. To Indianapolis. Transferring in there through the company. Much better pay. A promotion at that. Senior Promotions Producer. Woo Woo! How ya like me now?

As you can see, big, big things have been happening in my life and I haven't wanted to share a lot of them with you. Sorry about that, but that's my prerogative. There's probably a lot more I can say about my life and the changes in it. But, right now I don't. Again, my prerogative. You'll just have to deal.

I suppose I'll have to tell the Houston Blogger folks that I'm no longer going to be a Houston blogger. I suppose I'll have to get on some Indiana/Indianapolis Blogger list. That, of course, depends on if I want to keep this place up after the big move. I will be without a computer for a while, so this place will begin to collect dust. But, hopefully, it won't be too long before I break out the lemon fresh Pledge and clean this place up. Maybe it'll even give me a new purpose for blogging. I've kind of lost the... want... to blog. But, seeing how I'll be alone for a while in a new, unfamiliar place, I can see how blogging more regularly would be beneficial. The wife and kid would join me in the summer after he's done with school.

Looks like I was 2/3 right about the Super Bowl. The Pats won on a last second Adam Vinteri kick from 30+ yards out, but I got the score wrong. Oh well, 2 outta 3 ain't bad, especially with what I consider the best goddamn Super Bowl game in my living history. Damn that was a good game...

So back to the moving, probably my last day in Houston will be around March 9th. I'm starting the new job on March 15th. And, I must say that I'm rather quite excited about this particular change. Indianapolis has seasons and snow. And, the Colts. Most of my favorite football teams are associated with the Colts in some way. One, I like the Colts. Two, they play the Texans twice a year, so I can see two of my favorite teams play each other live in person at least once a season. Three, Peyton Manning is the son of Archie Manning, who was one of the greatest QB's in New Orleans Saints franchise history. Ok, that's not saying much... There's Archie and Aaron Brooks, and Archie is easily the better. Fourthly, the Colts have a damn good chance at winning the next year's Super Bowl.

I don't think that this will be the last post before the move, so stay tuned...

Prediction

Patriots 17-14, on a last second Adam Vinteri kick from 30+ yards out.

That's my prediction, but I'm still rooting for the Panthers.

Keyshawn Johnson was robbed!

Really he was mugged...

Keyshawn Johnson robbed at gunpoint!

To sum the story up, the outsed Buccaneer wide receiver was mugged by 2 suspects. They got away with money and jewerly. I wonder if they got his Super Bowl ring? Don't fret Keyshawn. I'm sure you'll get another one in the next two years with your good buddy Coach Parcells in Dallas.

Speaking of football... I'm gonna root for the Panthers. I have always liked Jake Delhomme. Something about him impressed me when he was with the Saints. They have to be kicking themselves right now. New Orleans' former back-up QB is in the Super Bowl and has a good chance at winning. Meanwhile, their $5 million dollar QB can't get them in the playoffs. Somewhere, former Saints GM Bill Kuharich is laughing.

If they would only listen...

If wood glue and regular glue doesn't work to hold two cardboard boxes together, then spray adhesive is not gonna fucking work! Get some screws and some nuts and bolt them together, you dolt! Like I told you to begin with!

</RANT>

I'm stage managing a stage version of the Snow Queen and the director wants ice blocks on stage during the last scene set in the Snow Queen's castle. So, we made some cardboard boxes into ice blocks and needed two of them to be attached for ease of setting on stage. I was presented with 3 boxes. Two stacked on stage and with the little crew I have, it's hard to have a quick scene change without those boxes being attached. The director said she would hot glue them together. I told her that would not work, that eventually the boxes would come apart. She needed to screw them together. Guess what? The hot glue held for all of one rehearsal. Actually, it held until the very end of the first rehearsal. So, I said we needed to screw them together. Granted, at that point, we'd have to cut the boxes open and repaint them, but we still had 2 weeks before we opened. The director found some wood glue in the shop and went that route. You know what happened... at the next rehearsal...
